Bahrain RAILROAD

The caption says "Bahrain Railroad Jan 57." That's it. I've got nothing. It looks like they're carrying bags of cement. I'm open to suggestions.

Donald G. Schnabel seems to have taken several photos while inside a car. Some are clear like this, others are blurred, but I might still post them.

  1. This train is why the donkey traffic congestion was so tolerable in Bahrain. Put all those cement bags on a caravan of donkeys and that's going to leave a lot of donkey poop on the roads.

    1. And splayed out donkey legs. "Donkey down on the 405."

  2. Mineral commodities produced in the country include aluminum, cement, nitrogen fertilizer, iron ore pellets from imported iron ore, methanol, sulfur, and sand. They omitted Donkey Doo-Doo.

    1. Indeed they did. I'm guessing it's no longer a main export since the place seems to be almost completely paved over.
