This is the last of Ernie until the holiday season since the other photos are pretty much Christmas shots, including one showing his wife.
So we leave Ernie sitting on the stoop with his daughter; perhaps a bit confused as to what the future holds for him.
Bye-bye Ernie. Bye-bye.
Is that a camera sitting to his left?
ReplyDeleteBye Ernie. See you at Christmas!
ReplyDeleteYou know, I've been trying to figure out what it is. Even looking at it through my loop I can't tell. If I were to guess I'd say transistor radio without a handle, but I just don't know.
ReplyDeleteIt's a Kodak 8mm movie camera with a spring works. By turning the key crank on the side, it was possible to get about three minutes worth of film through the gate. The more film run through the camera, the weaker the spring and the amount of time on a wind decreased. The two pieces of clear plastic that can been seen on the top of the camera was a crude view finder.
ReplyDeleteWYJ thanks so much. Movie camera also occurred to me but the pieces on the top were what confused me. I thought the side piece was a crank, but like I said the top pieces didn't make sense.
