The Columbia River Highway in Oregon is a lovely drive with a lot to see. Along the way you have Portland (which has Powells!!!) and then the river just moves along through the Bonneville Dam and beyond. Beautiful campgrounds, waterfalls, boating, windsurfers...

I was just driving along the Columbia River Highway on Saturday. It is as beautiful as ever, and they still have those great old WPA highway barriers. I always try to imagine what it must have been like to drive along the highway in one of those lovely old cars.
