Buyer BEWARE and Then Some
This is just a little note to tell people to think twice about buying any of my books from third party sellers. First they jack them up to ridiculous prices and secondly they don't actually have the books; this is on both eBay and Amazon. They are scamming you to pay for something they never acquired themselves and then charging insane prices for the book and the shipping. Please think twice about buying from them. This is sort of a crooked thing Amazon is aware of and allows to happen. Just buy the book direct if you want one. They're nice books and I don't want people to have bad experiences trying to get them. I have pride in them and these sellers just make me want to take a shower to wash off the disgust.
And now back to my regular programming.
This is a photo my friend Bert gave me. Cute little fella with a very tiny wagon. I mean a really tiny wagon. Not much would fit in that wagon except maybe some gumdrops or a tiny bear. You have to use your imagination with a wagon that small.
There's no information about the little fella or the photographer.

The SERIOUS FAMILIES little dancer
If you've been visiting this place the past few years you will be aware of the Serious Family consisting of a mother and three children. To see the other posts click on the word "serious" in the labels below.
Here I give you the lovely little daughter in some sort of costume. I'm guessing it was for a dance recital, but I'm open to other suggestions.
It was nice finding one of the children again.

A TREAT on a Summer Day
A cold sweet watermelon on a hot day IS summer. Sitting in the shade relaxing with family and friends after a picnic lunch is perfection.
If you've been to my site before you know I like the idea of people getting together to share food. With that sharing we create memories which will hopefully last a lifetime.
So remember to spend a few moments this summer bringing back past memories and be thankful for them.

This is a recently purchased photo; bought it for a buck. I wish I'd had it when I put together Tattered and Lost: Cakes, Picnics, and Watermelon.

The MASKED Boy
Does anyone have any idea what this kid is supposed to be? I've never seen a mask like this. I'm thinking it must have been hot as hell to wear.

More of the SERIOUS FAMILY
The antique store was having a sale so I perused the box I had perused so many times before. I managed to find a few snapshots I had missed on previous trips. Minor excitement when I found this photo of the kids from the Serious Family.
To see past images of these oh so serious children click on "serious family" in the labels below.

I wish I had names for these gorgeous kids. I also wish I could have seen them smile.

The VERY SERIOUS FAMILY
Was there someone out of sight saying, "Smile kids! Come on, smile!"

I'm beginning to think it's the flooring. Yup, the flooring is causing the problem.

The SERIOUS FAMILY
In November of 2014 I posted the following two photos. On the first day I posted this portrait of the pretty woman. The next day I posted a photo of two children that I assume are hers because they look so much like her. The children always look a bit confused.

So a year and half later I find more photos of the children. They never smile.

Wishful THINKING

Each one of these may be followed by a sigh.
"Oh to be in Paris this time of year."
"It only hurts when I laugh."
"I am stuck on bandaids brand and bandaids stuck on me."
"Her name is Matilda, and she has the most beautiful hazel green eyes."
"Could you speak up? I can't hear you. What? Huh?"
"It was a very bright light…and then poof! they were gone."
"No, my teeth are fine. Why do you ask?"
"Well, mother, the teacher said it would stop me from talking in class."
"Gee wiz doc, I don't know what you gave me, but I don't feel any pain. I don't feel anything…but how come you have two noses?"
"No, I'm only wearing this because mother cut my sideburns too short."

…CHILD REUNION
This photo belongs with yesterday's photo, The MOTHER. I'm pretty sure these are the children of the lovely woman posing in the sheath dress yesterday.

Click on image to see it larger.
My best friend gave me some money for my birthday and told me to go shopping for photos. An incredibly thoughtful gift, but she knows what life has been like and she knew this would bring me great pleasure. So off I went to my favorite antique store and found a whole series of posed shots of these children. Most of the shots were in b/w, but in each shot they were wearing different clothes. There were a lot of clothing changes going on the day of the shoot. And through it all the two kids kept the same confused expressions on their faces. There were no smiles, no twinkle in their eyes, just confusion and boredom. I did not buy the b/w shots, only a few color shots.
I call this post, along with yesterdays, The Mother and Child Reunion because I managed to find the shots scattered within several boxes and brought them back together. The possibly happy family is back together in an envelope. And so I hum Paul Simon's Mother and Child Reunion while I type this.

Small PHOTOBOOTH SHOT
I recently found ten smaller than usual photobooth shots. They're about 2/3 the size of what we would all be familiar with. This little guy is a charmer.
