It's nice to see that people are fascinated to learn about our old history. I'm 11 and doing a report about red vines and it took me here. thank you for sharing this story of your family. We were so excited to find this connection its like treasure hunting. I love chocolate so I'll make sure to try and eat a bit more. It was taken at the Biltmore Bowl in downtown Los Angeles - now the Millenium Biltmore Hotel. They were having dinner there but not sure in which room. The back stated: "For Additional Prints write to Hollywood Nite Club Photos. Be Certain to Mention this No (32) and the date. The address to order more prints was 6304 Riley Way, Carthay Circle Theatre Bldg, Los Angeles 36 Cal. YOrk 5293 which much have been the phone number at the time. I was a child then and could eat nothing but olives and saltine crackers during the entire trip from Hawaii to San Francisco, due to sea sickness. Our little dog, Pele, had to ride that whole trip in one of the wire “kennel crates” bolted to the forward deck which housed the beloved pet dogs of military families. All the dogs were sick just like their families. There was a pregnant Irish Setter in one of the crates, who lost her entire litter due to the wild rolling and lurching of the Sgt Mower. We had to eat on long 30 foot wooden plank-style tables with benches. And we had to hold on to our plates because otherwise they would slide all the way down the table or off the edge.

I was just a little girl then — and now I am around Pres Biden’s age. But I will never forget that week that I spent on the Sgt. Mower — seasick the entire time. Thanks for all this information and memories of that floating “crate!” Marsha Naylor, LPChttps://www.ceubynrt.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2654707306721822289.post-38522117177927300152021-12-14T06:17:50.219-11:002021-12-14T06:17:50.219-11:00I also have the same type of photo. My father and grandmother drove from Indiana to San Francisco in 1950 to meet my grandfather on the Sgt. Mower for their stay in Hawaii. My father spent a standout year in kindergarten as the only toe head. We have wonderful pictures I’ve been looking over lately and just discovered the Mower was a ship. If anyone has a similar story I’d love to hear it! jsmalley656@gmail.comJustPlaneJanehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03480454246262536116noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2654707306721822289.post-17866404413449894242021-03-28T12:19:08.949-11:002021-03-28T12:19:08.949-11:00HI!

Originally spelt Bahrain. This Lodge, the first Masonic Lodge in Bahrain was under the Scottish Constitution. The buildings were erected and furnished by the members who raised their funds in many ways. I have a lot I can share if you happen to still be on this site. He died young and a lot of info was lost, but I've been seeking some of that info over the last few years. I also have many recollections of you times when we lived in the PI and Japan. Would love to jointly share info if you are still active on this site.
