Cast members from an ANDY HARDY MOVIE?

These two could easily have been in a Mickey and Judy movie, clearly exhausted from once again putting on a show. He has a Van Cliburn look because of his hair, but I'm betting that either Glenn Miller or, hopefully, Benny Goodman is coming from that radio on the end table.

As to why the lampshades are wrapped in plastic….

  1. Mickey and Judy? I've just looked at this image in a bigger window and that's one effeminate looking man. It looks like the eyebrows have been shaped and the lips look a bit glossy. What's wrong with Glen Miller?

    1. I was waiting for someone to catch that. Nothing wrong with Miller, though the guy could never swing the way Goodman and Shaw could. A little more middle of the road, less earthy.

  2. I'd expect that Judy's mom is holding the camera. She probably took the plastic slipcovers off the couch for the occasion but decided the lamps were too much effort.

    1. Yes, the careless kids might throw their cups of punch in a moment of gaiety.

Actually when I see plastic on something I immediately think they're protecting it from blood splatter. I've watched far too many episodes of CSI.

  3. Those were the days, thankfully I never actually ever saw in real life, but sure have seen them in pictures!

    1. I grew up listening to that music. I had my mother's stack of 78 records which included my favorite "Sing, Sing, Sing." When we moved back from Hawaii the only record that got broken in the shipping was…"Sing, Sing, Sing."

  4. I have had a "crush" of sorts on Judy Garland for years. This isn't her!

Andy Rooney must have been interesting dude... sounds like he was a bit of a player (which goes against his screen image!)

    1. I think you meant Mickey Rooney, but I like the idea that Andy Rooney was a player. Whole new aspect to his life.
