    Charles (never Charlie and certainly not Chuck), and his wife Gwendolyn had given up on Hubert a long time ago. Boys will be boys and some never grow up. What could they do now anyway? Gwendolyn drank her hot chocolate and felt no regrets.

      Indeed. I've often seen people gently lifting off from around campfires, sticks still in hand, flaming mallow at the end.
