Little Girl with PAPER DOLL
What makes this snapshot unusual is that the little girl is holding a paper doll. It's pretty common to find photos of children with dolls, but not paper dolls. I'm sure some eagle eyed reader who collects paper dolls will be able to figure out which doll it is.

I love this! Most unusual to see a paper doll in a snapshot. Not sure why I missed this one? Didn't get an email for it.
ReplyDeleteI hadn't even realized I had this photo until a few days ago. It wasn't a particularly interesting shot until I looked at it with my loupe. Only the second photo I have showing a paper doll being held.
DeleteA while back, you had a post on G.E.M - George E. Mousley and his paper goods. This doll may be one of them.
ReplyDeleteCould be. I should probably just drag out my paper doll reference books and spend some time looking.
DeleteHmm, could be a Tuck paper doll. Love it. I'm lazy about the reference book stuff too. Working full time has but a crimp in my paper doll life, I can tell you that.
ReplyDeleteYeah, could be a Tuck. I know I'd love to have it.
DeleteOK, I went to my Tuck reference book, page 58 shows My Lady Betty, and the dress with the umbrella, could be the one.
ReplyDeleteOkie dokie. Good to know. I'll look around to see if I can find one online to add to the post of what the doll looked like. Thanks!
DeleteCute scene. I love how she is perched on the arm of the chair. The camera appears more focused on the background which I always like to look at.
ReplyDeleteYes, often the most interesting thing about a photo is the information given in the setting.
