Betty's friends CATTIN AROUND AT A MOTEL in room no. 12

Raise your hand if you remember motor courts. Little motels that were always one floor little cabins or duplexes. Sometimes there was an actual garage to pull into.

Here are Betty's friends with an unknown woman (not that Betty's friends aren't also unknown) holding a cat. Was she the motel manager? A friend who got them a good deal to stay there? We'll never know.

That's it folks. As of now I haven't found anymore photos from the girls getaway. Who knows what will show up in the future.

    1. Indeed she is! How many times did she hear, "So, what's the weather like up there doll?"

  2. I remember! Best to arrive at night when the mumbling night clerk walks you to a cabin with his flashlight. No TV, rust stained tub with no plug, cockeyed toilet gurgles, faded landscape "painting" on lime green walls, gold polyester curtains, tubular chrome dinette table and chairs. Check out time - 9:00am

    1. Yes! The guy with the flashlight! And a wall heater. Some sort of strange wall heater. At least then the paintings on the wall weren't screwed into the wall. I remember when suddenly every motel had started screwing everything into the walls, including tvs. Why anyone would have stolen some of the art from a motel I just don't know. I mean, it only matched the bedspread in THAT particular motel.

  3. There used to be a motel like this near me - They actually rented the units to long-term stayers... Fortunately (in my opinion) they were bulldozed at of existence not too long ago.

    1. There are still a few of those around here too. And yes, long-term renters. Often it appears to be laborers and their families. Sadly many of them are gone. I wish they had been fixed up for laborers to stay in instead of being replaced by some other fast food franchise.
