In August of 1956 Betty Schanbel and her father, Donald G. Schnabel, visited Spring Lake in Vermont. So far I haven't found anything about a place called Spring Lake. I'm guessing it was some sort of a resort and may not exist anymore.
This couple, friends of Betty and Donald, are Mary and Charles Shiro. That's all I know about them.

I wonder if this is the place?

What's weird is there is a Charles and Mary Shiro living in Spring Lake, New Jersey...
I honestly don't know because they don't provide any photos.
DeleteWell, it could be Charles and Mary. They could be in their 90s now.
It's near North Clarendon. The easiest way to find out of the way places in the US. Go to MapQuest, click directions, put in your city and the place you'd like to find.
ReplyDeleteI'd never thought of using MapQuest like that. Great idea. Thanks.
DeleteUnless you've corrected them, these slides have preserved a wonderful color quality.
ReplyDeleteJust lightened a bit, but the colors are basically the same. And some wonderful shots of Betty to come.
DeleteThese are grandparents and both are deceased. It is Spring Lake, NJ. The location is 59 miles south of NYC on the Jersey Shore.
