  1. If it is Polka Dot Pete, he looks slightly younger here. Maybe the magic foto booth is also a time machine?

    How large are these photos anyway? The square format makes them very intimate portraits.

    1. They're approximately 1.375" square. Only one to go.

    2. Amazing that such a tiny photo could have such charm. They have the same quality I saw in a collection of 18th century miniature portraits in Britain last year. These precursors to photographs had exquisite detailed likenesses in oil and enamel, and were placed in lockets and small cases. Like Polka Dot Pete and his mom, many were of people now forgotten and unknown, but their beauty still remains.

    3. Yes, I saw a collection of miniatures at the V&A a long time ago that knocked my socks off. A neighbor started collecting them a long time ago and has some beauties.
