Here's something a little different. This could just as easily be posted at my ephemera site as here under vernacular photography.
This shot was taken by my father in the early 1950s when he was living in Japan during the Korean War. I have no idea what movies or stars are on the posters. Anyone have any ideas?
Left to right:
ReplyDeleteYoklahoma!
Swiss Family Yashirobinson
Little Women
Isn't that Bette Midler in the red hat?
ReplyDeleteNope, can't be Bette. Too early. I was thinking it might be Betty Grable. Have no idea what movie it could be.
ReplyDeleteI do love Swiss Family Yashirobinson!
ReplyDeleteYoklahoma! That's funny!
ReplyDeletePretty sure the first one is "Three for the Show" with Betty Grable and Jack Lemon. I finally found the sound track album with a picture of Betty in the same costume and another poster with a man, probably Gower Champion, in the same pose as the one in the lower left corner. The blurry letters in the upper right corner could be that title in English too.
Yes, I love Yoklahoma too. Whoever anonymous is, very funny.
ReplyDeleteUpper right of Grable poster says Cinemascope. Other than that I don't see any English.
Thanks for clearing up the title of this one. Now the next two are the unknown.
Anyone who comes up with great names like that should bow and take credit. Very very funny.
