STYLIN'
It's always sad to find an image like this with such damage, but it's nice knowing that it can be easily fixed with Photoshop. She's shop worn and was tossed aside. I liked her and respected what she was doing. She was stylin'!

The hat is swell but her gloves add real style.
ReplyDeleteHer photo looks mounted, but not an old cabinet card. What's the size?
It's photobooth size. Just a little picture.
DeleteIt's fine the way it is. Photoshop is almost always a bad idea.
ReplyDeleteI have to disagree on that. I've spent over 40 years in publishing, many spent doing scholarly work. If I'd had Photoshop back when I was doing image heavy inserts of badly damaged images, it would have made life so much easier. I still have my old box of grayscale paints in the bottom drawer, but would not want to go back to using them. And since the original image is not damaged when Photoshop is used you actually end up with both sides of the same coin; the actual paper image that has weathered through time and a clean digital image showing what it looked like when it was new and brought a smile to the original owner.
DeleteThat was a big hat to wear into a photo booth!
ReplyDeleteAre there still photo booths around anymore? I've not seen one in years.
