If you were going to time travel would you do it as a character from Dumb and Dumber? Would it just be too hard to resist going back in time to act like a fool knowing no matter what you did there'd be no trace?
Sorry Jim, but I think we got you. Or wait, could that be a young Jerry Lewis? We'll never know. It's just possibly a recorded sighting of a time-traveling-celebrity.

So, how does this fit into the Sepia Saturday theme this week? Ummmmm…I'm thinking…ummmmm…okay, maybe this is Jim Carrey taking a pose for famed silhouette artist Eveline Adelheid von Maydell. Oh, wouldn't you like to have witnessed that event? And if anyone has found the silhouette I think you might be sitting on a fortune…or just an old piece of black paper that makes no sense at all.

An entertaining take on the theme; I just wish I was a fan of those two!
ReplyDeleteI understand completely.
DeleteIf I were time traveling, it would NOT be from "Dumb and Dumber." If ever a movie was aptly named . . . . But yes, I can see Jerry Lewis in that photo. Good eye!
ReplyDeleteIt is hard to imagine that the first one was so successful that someone thought there should be a second.
DeleteJim/Jerry needs to get a grip on his portmanteau and shape up or ship out.
ReplyDeleteI imagine he didn't receive many tips for carrying bags.
DeleteInteresting take on the theme! I enjoyed Jerry Lewis when I was a kid. As an adult not so much. He and Dean Martin were quite a team though.
ReplyDeleteYes, as a kid I loved them too. I still can watch old Martin and Lewis routines and movies and enjoy them. The later Lewis not much there to love.
DeleteThe subject of the photo does look a lot like a young Jerry Lewis. Unfortunately, I've never been a fan of slapstick comedy - even when I was young. Dean Martin, on the other hand, when he was a little older . . . ;-)
ReplyDeleteI even loved the 3 Stooges. Humor was all good to me as a kid. Was a big Bowery Boy fan.
DeleteI don't pay attention to current celebrities, so I would be terrible at recognizing time-traveling ones.
ReplyDeleteWell keep your eyes open because I'm sure the older stars also had this ability.
DeleteA goofy fellow in any case. Perhaps some time traveling celebrities have gone forward rather than backward in time.
ReplyDeleteHow will we know?
DeleteLove that shirt! I am sure I used to have one a bit like that. A time travelling shirt maybe.
ReplyDeleteI have a very similar shirt made of rayon that had belonged to my dad. I love it. And yes, it has definitely time traveled.
DeleteJerry Lee Lewis was always good for a laugh. Here, he or his look alike looks relieved to put that case down.
ReplyDeleteWell now it's getting interesting. "Great Balls of Fire" Jerry Lee Lewis.
DeleteI guess along with the "how is the luggage handled" we need to add in the "how does the hair-do" and "clothes" get handled when the celebrity time travels... along with the burning question of "just how big a celebrity do you have to be" to time travel... I mean.. does a Kardashian or Dances with Stars celebrity even qualify?
ReplyDeleteSince we're not part of the celestial ether I don't think we'll ever know. But unfortunately I do believe some of the lesser humans who are faux through and through have been known to time travel. For example, the "illustrious" Paris Hilton: http://tatteredandlostphotographs.blogspot.com/2009/08/theres-picture-of-paris-hilton-in-her.html
