I will say nothing. I will leave this open to your interpretation. I will not give you hints as to what I am thinking. My best friend knows. We have already laughed and discussed this. If you can guess what I suspect then drop me a comment. I am probably wrong, but both shots were bought at the same estate sale. That's all you're getting out of me.
This is what happens when photos end up in the hands of people you don't know. Just a warning.

Oh boy! Ohboy,ohboy.
ReplyDeleteI can say no more.
My lips are sealed...except for the right corner where a puff of a snicker keeps escaping.
ReplyDeleteI am clueless? Same faces? Twins...tell tell, do tell...
ReplyDeleteWelcome to the world of unknown people with unknown lives. Do you think they're the same person? Brother and sister? Cross-dresser from long ago? A mystery never to be solved.
ReplyDeleteActually cross dresser is what I thought, but looking at my grandmothers photos I realize women were rugged looking too! The conditions so harsh, I might not have made it, of course I think in a former life I was a madame of a brothel with my whiskey and cigar habits...
ReplyDeleteOMG!!! The flowers look the same, do you think the pictures were taken the same day? Actually, he looks more at ease in the second pic! hehehee
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad you found my blog so I could find yours! This is amazing. I always hope to find questionable photos like this! You hit the jackpot for sure!
ReplyDeleteAll of you have touched on exactly the same thoughts I had. I bought a stack of negatives, prints, and an album at an estate sale. I didn't really pay much attention to what I'd bought until days later. I'd already sent these photo separately to my friend. And then one night I looked at them side x side and thought "Whooooooooooa. This is seriously strange." I really don't know what's going on. It's probably a sister in the dress because there is a slight difference, but we'll never know. There's enough similarity to open the door, ummmmm step out of the closet, to leave us with a mystery.
ReplyDeleteAnd Emily Sue's blog is Paper Gatherer listed in the left column.
Chef E, I really do like that image of a chef from long ago working in some upstairs/downstairs house puffing away on cigars and running a little brothel on the basement level. That would make quite a Masterpiece Theater production!
