The GHOSTS IN THE LITTLE FAMILY ALBUM: The Children

These little fellows are lost to history, but fortunately their images were not lost through time. This photo was one of the few images that wasn't merely a ghost of its former self.

Life on a Nebraska prairie had to be beautiful, lonely, exciting, and heartbreaking.

Does anybody have an idea what the structure in the background might be? I'm guessing it had something to do with hay.

Let's take a moment to wonder what these little fellows might have been looking at. Take a look at this image at National Geographic of a prairie with a rainbow.

DECONSTRUCTING the class

Another school class photo to be deconstructed. Sadly, it has a large tear with tape on it, but still worth the pittance I paid for it.

Little girls with hair bows lined up in the back rows. I will say that this class had some of the most good looking boys in it that I've ever seen. Really stunning boys that must have had the young girls hearts a flutter.

No information on where this was taken.

Deconstructing THE CLASS: Final Row

Bows! Bows! Bows! What about the girls without bows?

The ringmaster.

And so we finally see the end of the unknown class from an unknown place.

Deconstructing THE CLASS: Part 3

And now, some of the little girls with those dang bows in their hair.

Yes, the bows look cute, but imagine having that stuck on your head all day. I would think it especially annoying during recess. And I often think of what it would be like to sit behind them in a classroom when you're trying to see the blackboard. Sort of like when in the early '60s you'd be seated in a movie theater and see a woman heading down the aisle in front of you with a beehive hairdo. You'd be muttering to yourself, "Please don't sit in front of me. Please don't sit in front of me. Dang!"
