SHARP Dressed Man

For those who have followed this blog since at least August/September of 2013 you might remember the love story of Charlette and Edgar. At the time I purchased the photos of them I also found shots of some of their friends. If you don't remember Charlette and Edgar you can find them by typing Charlette in the search box to the left or by clicking on her name in the labels.

One of their friends; a sharp dressed man.

  1. Sharp enough to cut yourself on. A lovely old photo - preserved and saved for posterity.

    1. It would be so nice to know the specifics. There's a story here that isn't going to be told.

  2. That was one of your better stories. Could this be the start of a spin-off series?

    1. Alas no story. There are just some shots of friends with no other context, thus the reason they weren't in the original story.

  3. From what I can tell, Edgar was an Airman (serving in the air force) This guy appears to be an MP. the town seems to experience some bleak weather. Maybe we can work this out :)

    1. Ahh, that makes sense since all of the fellas in the photos were in the service. I had thought he might be a state patrolman, but an MP makes it more interesting. My dad once had to do shore patrol on New Years Eve in Hong Kong after the war. Now those are some stories.

    2. The Air Force Security Police was a "new organization" in 1957-ish. The main training base for the officers was Parks AFB near Dublin in Alameda county, California until it moved in 1959.

    3. Wow, I didn't even know there was an AFB in Dublin and I lived near there. But now that I see it's next to Santa Rita jail it all comes back to me. I remember the run down functional military style buildings. The last time I drove by was a long time ago and I thought the place was closed. Apparently not.

  4. Germany, Berlin perhaps, flat, and bleak overcast weather from mid fall through mid spring.

    1. Well that adds a whole other dimension to it.
