Okay, everybody say ROQUEFORT!
Our gang.

I have been on vacation with no net access. I apologize for not posting all of the comments. I will get to them now that I'm home…as soon as I can stop dealing with people from my insurance company. See, the vacation went very well, extremely well…until the last day when we were in an accident. Nobody was hurt, but there was extensive damage to all vehicles. This is what happens when you pull off to the shoulder to let people who are tailgating pass. BAM! Even the innocent party end up losing everything. I have spent so many hours on the phone for three days straight with so many different people that my head hurts. All of this to just get bad news about what will, or more correctly, not be done.
And so it goes.

Oh crud. I wondered what happened to you -
ReplyDeleteIt's a shame that the spineless powers-that-be can't "man up" and start removing the worse 20% of the drivers from the roads. They have no business out there.
Especially speeding trucks. An 18 wheeler caused the accident but drove off. I used to respect those who drove trucks, but it's a different breed now. There are still many honest good drivers, but the ones that are bad are really bad.
DeleteSo sorry to learn that you wear a frown too. Hope the sun comes out tomorrow.
ReplyDeleteBut as a consolation, this class photo may be your best deconstruction ever! Poor Miss McCartney had more wacky students to manage than many teachers see in their whole career. I bet she passed them all just to get rid of them.
Why thank you. That's nice to hear. I thought it a pretty pretty darn interesting shot. And I think WJY nailed it in a comment left while I was gone: "I suspect these children went to a school like the one I went to; a school that stressed discipline, that started the elementary kids with ruler smacks to the hands and then transitioned to paddling. As I remember, we weren't a happy school."
DeleteThis is a huge class for just one teacher.
