  1. There is something quite compulsive about viewing other people's photographs - it is like seeing into their personality. Give me a box of slides or a file of negatives and I will tell you about the man/woman.

  2. Distinguished looking dude. I love the shades of green in the photo.

Is Hal Powers his "real" name?

    2. The 1940 California Voter Rolls list a Hal J Powers, living in Los Angeles at 229 South Admore Avenue and working as a bartender.

    3. I don't think it's him. The people who took the photos lived back in Connecticut or Massachusetts, I can't remember which. Hal shows up in several other shots. I believed he lived on a farm.

  3. Interesting. I just posted an image of a piece of billhead and letterhead for a fellow who WAS a Shooter. So - why do you think this guy is a Shooter?

    1. Dave, you've got to look at the three previous posts. Ready, aim, and fire.

  5. Since Hal was the gun shooter, who was the camera shooter? Something about the quality and sequence of the photos suggests a magazine article. Perhaps a professional photographer?

    1. The photos were taken by a man named Don. All of the photos came from his daughter's estate. He made guns, I think as a hobby. I think he worked for an oil company. And she was a crack shot.
