Another slide from the Schnable estate. This one is of Betty's brother, Don Jr., and Louise. I do not know if Louise was his wife.
Sure would like to see more of this ragtop. Anyone have an idea of what model it might be?
Click on image to see it larger.
I do love the color in old Kodachrome shots.

Really can't see much of the car to be definitive - but I suspect it is an early 1950s Ford. The location looks like the east end of Long Island.
ReplyDeleteFord sounds good to me. So does the Long Island connection.
DeleteAccording to the 1940 US census, Louise was Donald G. Schnabel (Sr.)'s wife.
ReplyDeleteYes, Louise is the name of Betty's mother. This particular slide has Donald Jr. and Louise written on it. Clearly not his mother, so I'm guessing possibly his wife. Another photo of her to post today.
DeleteI think this might be a 1955 Ford Fairlane Sunliner Convertible.

Fun car. Love to have one.
DeleteGood call, IG for identifying the car from just the ragtop. I bet there are more '55 Ford convertibles driving around Havana right now than Long Island.
ReplyDeleteI would so love to see Havana before the corporations get in there and destroy it with new buildings and cars.
