There are no photographs but yours make me wonder if there was any similarity between George's father's mine and my father's mine. Thanks so much for sharing!Nancyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12136584654825212359noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2654707306721822289.post-36816974734898813042011-04-30T08:33:15.692-11:002011-04-30T08:33:15.692-11:00I figure the mine was in the Sierra foothills, gol...I figure the mine was in the Sierra foothills, gold country. And as others have said, I imagine they were searching for gold or silver. There's still a lot of gold up in them thar hills. It's being found all the time and it's believed only a small portion was taken out during the rush.

All of these photos are from the George Kallman collection. None of the family is left. Neither George or Gladys had children. These photos were going to be tossed when my friend Bert stepped in and told the person that I was a collector.Tattered and Losthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00208918251232477186noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2654707306721822289.post-48707562365769613742011-04-30T05:32:30.452-11:002011-04-30T05:32:30.452-11:00Oh my these photos are of a place that had to be a...Oh my these photos are of a place that had to be a very big deal! My guess is silver as 1937 is the year and the gold rush days were over. These photos display a serious adventure in rugged terrain.
