The candy store and COCA-COLA

Imagine my surprise when searching through some negatives to find this image. I've had these negs for years and only went back to them last night while searching for a particular shot. The majority of the negs have never been scanned. Many of the images are already available in an old album bought at the same estate sale as the negs, others are waiting to be discovered.

Now, I'm not saying this is a category, but let's face it, there are people who collect Coca-Cola stuff and I think this would nicely fit that category.

Oh for the days of the corner candy store and malt shop.

  1. These CocaCola signs are not even American anymore since they have now drowned the world's thirst.

I think a better category would be Thelma & Louise!

  2. We had a small drug store with a counter a block & a half from the house where I grew up. It was a wonderful place for lunch or just coffee & a donut. And then an ice cream store opened up across the street. Talk about the perfect neighborhood shopping center!

    1. That does sound ideal. When I moved to the small town where I lived they still had an old fashioned pharmacy that I loved. Narrow store with the raised pharmacy in the back. Sadly it couldn't compete when the chain stores arrived. But we do have an idyllic ice cream parlor.

    1. Many years ago a friend's son became enamored of all things Pepsi. And so I began searching for everything Pepsi for him. It was fun finding things in antique stores, but oh my the prices. Unfortunately he now has no interest in any of it so I think it sits in boxes at his mother's house.
